Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem with over the top visual effects encompassing the full game experience. Choose a variety of high-flying vehicles equipped with huge rocket boosters to score aerial goals and pull-off game-changing saves. Players can customize their cars and compete in one of the most critically acclaimed sports games of all time, complete with cross-platform progression, in-game events, and limited-time modes.

Working with Psyonix

Beyond-FX collaborated with Psyonix as a full-service VFX department to assist in creating a backlog of additional content that would help fuel the game’s live service economy. Fully integrating with Psyonix’s internal team, we began to research and conceptualize which type of bespoke assets would work best for the game and its fans.

From there, we iteratively created the assets before implementing and optimizing each one in-engine for full release. Leveraging Psyonix’s tools and pipelines, our artists created over 65 unique goal explosions, boosts, and supersonic trails for release in the marketplace or special events.
